Jain Global hires two senior equity PMs in London

Valentin Tataru from JPMorgan and Murat Boston from KMB Capital joined Jain Global as senior equity portfolio managers in London.

Jain Global has appointed Valentin Tataru and Murat Boston as senior equity portfolio managers for its London equities platform. Tataru joined from JPMorgan, where he spent about 20 years trading hybrid securities, and will serve as an equity arbitrage portfolio manager. Boston left KMB Capital, the equity market-neutral fund he founded and ran for two years, to join Jain Global’s London team.

Before founding KMB Capital, Boston worked at Millennium as an equities portfolio manager covering technology, media and telecommunications stocks. The two hires bring experience in different equity strategies: arbitrage and market-neutral equities.

The appointments come as Jain Global shifts from operating as an independent hedge fund to managing capital for Millennium. The firm ended its period as an independent fund with a 0.2% loss. Jain Global declined to comment on the appointments.

The additions expand the firm’s investment bench in London by combining long institutional track records and entrepreneurial fund experience among portfolio managers.
