Jain Global expands Hong Kong base ahead of Millennium deal
Jain Global will increase its Hong Kong office by 50% from early 2027, add about 25 staff and keep hiring across Asia as it prepares to manage capital exclusively for Millennium Management.
Jain Global is expanding its Asian operations, agreeing to increase its Hong Kong office space by 50% from early 2027 to accommodate about 25 additional employees as it prepares to manage capital exclusively for Millennium Management.
Hong Kong currently accounts for roughly 60% of the firm’s about 75 staff in Asia, making the city the centre of its regional operations.
Recent hires include Jordan Miyakawa, joining from IMC Trading as a discretionary macro portfolio manager based in Singapore; Matthieu Millot, joining from HSBC to focus on single-stock derivatives; and Ian Wong, formerly at Balyasny Asset Management, who will serve as an industrials-focused portfolio manager.
There have been departures as well. Amir Ravan, a Singapore-based portfolio manager who specialised in precious metals and who was among the firm’s stronger performers last year, is leaving to become head of commodities at Dymon Asia Capital.
The additional Hong Kong space is intended to support the new hires and to consolidate staff and resources in the city while the firm restructures its investor base to run Millennium’s capital.
The firm declined to comment on staffing changes or the details of its arrangement with Millennium. Financial professionals familiar with Jain Global say the adjustments aim to align the firm’s structure and personnel with requirements for managing a single external capital provider.
