IXOPAY launches Agentic Suite for AI-driven payments

IXOPAY has launched the Agentic Suite to help merchants add agent-driven buying and governed AI access to payment operations. It includes Payment Agent, Universal Tokens and an MCP Server.

IXOPAY has launched the Agentic Suite, a set of tools designed to connect agent-driven buying experiences and governed AI access to existing payment systems.

The suite contains three main components. Payment Agent routes purchases initiated by merchant-owned agents, IXOPAY-powered experiences or supported third-party agents into a merchant’s current orchestration and tokenization setup. Universal Tokens preserve agent identity, customer consent and purchase intent alongside the payment credential to create an auditable record. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server gives approved AI assistants controlled access to tokenization and payment functions while enforcing permissions, protecting credentials and logging AI actions.

IXOPAY says the components are protocol-agnostic so merchants can add new buying channels without rebuilding their payment stacks.

Ajoy Krishnamoorthy, IXOPAY’s CEO, noted: “Merchants need tools that make it easier to launch new buying experiences while also helping them manage the risks that come with agent-initiated transactions.” He framed the suite as a response to emerging questions about transaction liability when customers buy through AI tools.

Jill Willard, IXOPAY’s chief technology officer, explained the suite is intended to let merchants recognize an agent, capture the intent behind a transaction and connect that transaction to the appropriate payment infrastructure. She added that MCP Server is designed to let approved AI tools automate routine workflows without broadening access to sensitive credentials.

The Agentic Suite follows IXOPAY’s Payments Intelligence product and IXO Nav, an embedded AI payments assistant. IXOPAY positions the new tools as complementary to those offerings, enabling merchants to analyze payments data and permit limited, auditable AI actions within payment workflows.

Henry Nanne, co-founder and director of technology at Tilopay, commented that Latin American and Caribbean merchants can use Payment Agent on IXOPAY’s platform to accept agentic transactions without re-engineering checkout systems for each new agent or protocol.

IXOPAY says the suite is intended to allow businesses to expand into AI-driven buying channels, provide records for disputed agent-initiated purchases and let internal teams run AI tasks under existing governance and permission structures.
