ITSS, Feedzai embed AI fraud controls across CEE

IT Smart Systems will embed Feedzai’s RiskOps AI fraud and AML tools into its digital banking and payments platforms for clients in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe.

IT Smart Systems announced a partnership with Feedzai to embed Feedzai’s RiskOps AI fraud detection and anti-money laundering tools into ITSS’s digital banking and payments platforms, expanding access in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe.

The companies said the agreement combines Feedzai’s machine-learning models and global risk intelligence with ITSS’s integration experience. Feedzai’s platform, which the company says protects more than $9 trillion in payments annually, will be included in ITSS deliveries for onboarding, payments processing, transaction monitoring and KYC/AML workflows.

Risk decisioning will be integrated directly into customer journeys rather than kept as a separate security layer. That includes real-time fraud checks at digital onboarding, across omnichannel payment flows and in SEPA and instant payments processing.

ITSS, which has provided banking platforms and payment integrations for 24 years, will implement and integrate RiskOps into client systems. The company will extend access to advanced fraud and AML tools for banks and payment firms across Romania and the wider CEE market.

Feedzai’s RiskOps uses supervised and unsupervised machine learning to identify unusual patterns and flag suspicious behavior in real time. The platform supports transaction monitoring and decisioning across multiple channels and payment types, a feature the partners say matters as instant payments volumes rise and regulators develop projects such as the digital euro.

Alex Cociu, Executive Partner at IT Smart Systems, described the agreement as the next phase of ITSS’s strategy: ‘Combining digital banking, enterprise integration, payments, AI, and fraud prevention into a unified, complete ecosystem for financial institutions.’

Maximilian von Criegern, General Manager at Feedzai, warned that ‘AI is making scams more convincing and more scalable than ever. Behind every fraud loss is a person whose finances, ambitions, and future are affected. By partnering with ITSS, we’re strengthening defenses against evolving threats and helping protect customers from fraud before it happens.’

The companies said ITSS will offer a combination of implementation services and embedded risk controls rather than delivering standalone anti-fraud software. They stated the integration is intended to reduce false positives and manual reviews by enabling more accurate, context-aware assessments of transactions and behavior.
