Iress names Darryl Campbell-Blackwell group CTO to lead AI
Iress appointed Darryl Campbell-Blackwell as Group Chief Technology Officer on its Global Leadership Team to modernize platforms and embed AI across Xplan.
ASX-listed Iress has appointed Darryl Campbell-Blackwell as Group Chief Technology Officer and elevated the role to its Global Leadership Team. The company said he will lead platform modernization and work to embed artificial intelligence across the Xplan wealth platform to increase product delivery speed and simplify its technology environment.
Campbell-Blackwell has more than 25 years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including over 15 years in senior technology leadership roles at Iress. He will be based in the United Kingdom and will oversee engineering teams across all regions where Iress operates.
In a statement, Andrew Russell, Group CEO and Managing Director, said: “We are focused on modernizing our platforms, increasing product velocity and embedding AI in a practical, ROI-led way. Elevating the CTO role reflects the importance of technology execution in delivering this next phase.”
Iress also announced a partnership with Thoughtworks to supplement internal teams with external engineering capacity and accelerate targeted modernization of core platforms and the integration of AI across client workflows.
Campbell-Blackwell commented that Iress has clear technology foundations and a defined strategy. He said the immediate priorities will be executing the modernization plan, simplifying the technology environment and improving product delivery for clients.
The company confirmed the CTO role is now part of the Global Leadership Team and that Campbell-Blackwell will be based in the UK. Iress did not disclose a start date in its announcement.
