Iliad Solutions appoints Jill Murtagh for South Africa role
Iliad Solutions appointed Jill Murtagh to introduce its payment testing technology to banks, financial institutions and software developers across South Africa.
Iliad Solutions has appointed Jill Murtagh to lead its push into South Africa, where she will introduce the company’s payment testing technology to banks, financial institutions and software developers.
In the role, Murtagh will engage prospective customers, advise on local procurement processes and demonstrate Iliad’s testing tools to organisations undertaking payment modernisation or seeking stronger testing capability.
The appointment forms part of Iliad’s international growth plans to respond to rising demand for specialist testing across real-time, domestic and cross-border payment programmes.
Murtagh brings several decades of banking experience, with roles at Barclays Bank South Africa, First National Bank, ABSA and Mercantile Bank. She spent more than 20 years at Bidvest Bank as Executive Head of Payments and Banking Operations, where she oversaw banking operations and payment gateways, led development of the bank’s payment infrastructure and helped transform the business from a bureau de change into a fully licensed bank. Her experience covers both domestic and cross-border payment services.
Anthony Walton, Iliad Solutions’ chief executive, noted that South Africa is an active market for payment technology and that growing system complexity increases demand for testing. He pointed to Murtagh’s operational background and long-standing industry relationships as factors in the appointment.
Murtagh commented that her work in payments and infrastructure gives her direct insight into testing needs during implementations and that she intends to help clients improve delivery outcomes by applying those skills.
Iliad supplies specialist payment testing technology and works with global payment schemes, financial market infrastructures, commercial banks and software providers. The company said the hire will support its efforts in markets where payment systems are being upgraded and institutions require stronger testing to reduce delivery risk and improve system quality.
