Horizon Adds Native Kalshi Access for Institutional Traders

Horizon launched native connectivity to Kalshi to let institutional clients access Kalshi event contracts inside Horizon’s execution and order-management environment. The integration embeds Kalshi markets so clients can view, route and manage Kalshi positions alongside other instruments they trade.

Kalshi operates a U.S.-regulated exchange for event contracts. Its products pay out based on the outcome of named events such as economic data releases or policy decisions. The exchange is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and lists contracts tied to discrete, time-bound outcomes.

The connectivity targets hedge funds, proprietary trading desks, asset managers and other institutional accounts that use consolidated execution, risk controls and reporting. By bringing Kalshi listings into Horizon’s systems, users can access event contracts alongside futures and equities, monitor exposure and handle post-trade reporting within a single platform.

Horizon said the link supports order routing and position management for Kalshi products within Horizon’s existing technology stack. Horizon and Kalshi confirmed the connection is available to Horizon’s institutional customer base and will be enabled for eligible accounts under each firm’s onboarding and compliance processes. Neither firm disclosed client names or trading volumes tied to the new link.

Event contracts differ from traditional derivatives because payoffs are linked to the result of a named event rather than to the price of an underlying asset. Market participants can buy or sell these contracts to express a view on the probability of an event or to hedge exposure around scheduled announcements.

Institutional trading platforms have been adding direct integrations with execution venues and exchange technology to allow multi-asset desks to manage diverse exposures from a single interface. Horizon’s integration with Kalshi connects event-driven contracts to existing workflows instead of requiring separate venue connections or manual processes.
