Goku Technologies hires SS&C GlobeOp for fund admin

Goku Technologies tapped SS&C GlobeOp to handle fund accounting and investor services for its Master Fund as it scales AI-driven systematic trading across Asian equities.

Singapore-based quantitative manager Goku Technologies has appointed SS&C GlobeOp to administer its Goku Technologies Master Fund. The agreement covers fund accounting and investor services to support the fund’s operational needs as trading activity grows.

Goku, which has offices in Singapore and Shanghai and manages about $4 billion in assets, operates a high-volume systematic trading strategy across Asian equity markets. The fund executes significant daily trading activity that increases the workload on middle- and back-office functions.

Under the contract, SS&C GlobeOp will handle net asset value calculation, financial reporting, investor communications and related investor services. Those tasks support trade processing, reconciliation and client reporting for a fund with intensive intraday activity.

Ken Chung, chief executive of Goku Technologies’ Singapore office, noted the firm’s expansion had raised pressure on its trading and operational systems and that outsourcing administration would help maintain operational integrity while the firm expands its systematic trading footprint in the region.

Goku uses strategies that combine artificial intelligence, quantitative research and automated models to seek risk-adjusted returns in Asian equities. High-frequency order flow increases post-trade processing and the complexity of reconciling trading systems with books and records.

The appointment forms part of a broader administration package intended to provide a scalable operating platform as trading volumes and product complexity increase, allowing Goku to focus resources on model development and trade execution.
