Global ETF launches: 5x DAX ETPs, HANetf GIJO

Issuers launched several ETFs in the week of July 9-16, 2026, including Leverage Shares’ 5x long and short DAX ETPs, HANetf’s US defence ETF GIJO, and new funds from Erste and L&G.

Between July 9 and July 16, 2026, ETF issuers introduced multiple exchange-traded funds across Europe, led by Leverage Shares’ new 5x long and 5x short DAX exchange-traded products. Leverage Shares registered both ETPs for trading in European markets during the July 9-16 window. The funds target five times the daily performance of the DAX index for the long product and five times the inverse daily performance for the short product. These leveraged products are intended to deliver amplified daily returns and carry higher volatility and tracking risk over longer holding periods.

HANetf listed GIJO during the same week. GIJO is an ETF focused on companies operating in the US defence sector and was made available to investors seeking concentrated exposure to defence-related equities. Erste Asset Management added two new ETFs to its lineup and Legal & General expanded its ETF range with additional funds; both issuers listed their new products in European markets in the July 9-16 period.

The Australian Securities Exchange admitted eight new ETFs in June 2026. Admissions included Lion Active ETF (ASX:ROAR) on June 1; Macquarie Global Small Companies Active ETF (ASX:MQXS) on June 4; Betashares Bloomberg Ausbond Composite ETF (ASX:COMP) on June 5; Western Asset Enhanced Income Fund – Active ETF (ASX:FEIF) and Franklin Global Systematic Equity Fund – Active ETF (ASX:FGSE) on June 10; Global X Space Tech ETF (ASX:MOON) on June 11; iShares World Equity High Income Complex ETF (ASX:WYNC) on June 18; and Coolabah Active Global Bond Complex ETF (ASX:GFXD) on June 25.

Leveraged ETPs deliver a multiple of the underlying index’s daily return and can diverge from the index over extended holding periods due to compounding. Thematic and sector ETFs concentrate exposure in specific areas of the market. Active ETFs allocate investment discretion to portfolio managers while remaining subject to standard disclosure and reporting rules for exchange-traded funds.

The July 9-16 listings add to recent ETF activity in Europe and follow a busy month of new admissions on the Australian market in June 2026. Issuers continue to register products that provide leverage, sector exposure, thematic exposure and active strategies across multiple exchanges.
