Former Morgan Stanley quant exits Rokos after one year
Yingyi Chu, hired in September 2025 as head of equity investment quants at Rokos, was removed from the firm’s UK register at the end of July after about 10–11 months.
Yingyi Chu, who joined Rokos Capital Management in September 2025 as head of equity investment quants, was removed from the firm’s UK register at the end of July after roughly 10 to 11 months with the firm, according to UK regulatory records.
The Financial Conduct Authority register shows Chu is no longer listed at Rokos’ UK entity. The regulator’s entry does not state whether he has left the firm entirely or transferred to another office. Rokos maintains additional locations in New York, Abu Dhabi and Singapore.
Rokos declined to comment on Chu’s current role. Chu did not respond to requests for comment.
Chu arrived at Rokos after about three and a half years at Capstone Investment Advisors. Before Capstone, he spent nearly five years at Morgan Stanley, where he led quantitative investment strategies, and earlier worked as a strategist at Goldman Sachs.
There has been no public announcement from Rokos about an internal reshuffle or a replacement in the UK role. Regulatory records provide the primary public confirmation of the change in Chu’s UK registration.
