FlexTrade adds EDX Markets for institutional crypto trading

FlexTrade integrated EDX Markets into FlexDigitalAssets EMS, giving institutions direct access to EDX’s centrally cleared trading venue and order book.

FlexTrade Systems has integrated EDX Markets into its FlexDigitalAssets execution management system, giving institutional and hedge fund clients access to EDX’s centrally cleared trading venue and central limit order book inside the EMS.

The integration delivers EDX’s market and central limit order book into the FlexDigitalAssets order blotter so clients can view and interact with available liquidity in real time. Traders can execute via click trading or through API-based workflows while seeing full order book depth alongside other aggregated liquidity in FlexTrade’s interface.

Users can apply FlexTrade’s rules-based automation tool, FlexAlgoWheel, to build routing logic that sends digital asset orders to venues based on criteria such as order size, liquidity conditions or venue-specific pricing.

The central clearinghouse for EDX provides a clearing layer for trades executed on the venue, and the hosted order book is presented directly within FlexTrade’s aggregation and execution tools. The combined setup creates a single workflow for trading, execution and clearing inside the EMS.

Institutional adoption of digital assets has increased over the past two years as firms aim to align crypto trading with practices used in equities, fixed income and FX. FlexTrade and EDX say the integration embeds centrally cleared crypto liquidity into existing institutional workflows.

Tony Acuña-Rohter, EDX Markets CEO, commented: “Through this integration, we’re extending access to our centrally cleared, institutional-grade venue through a platform already embedded in many global trading workflows. Clients can benefit from enhanced price discovery, greater liquidity depth and stronger execution performance.” Uday Chebrolu, SVP – FX and Digital Assets at FlexTrade, added: “As institutional participation in digital assets evolves, our clients want the same level of control, transparency and operational efficiency they have in traditional asset classes. Integrating EDX into FlexDigitalAssets lets firms trade digital assets using the same tools, workflows and automation logic they use for other asset classes.”
