Fifth Third launches 18-month 0% APR Truly Simple card

Fifth Third launched the Truly Simple Credit Card with 18 months of 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers; variable APR 18.49% to 29.49% applies after the introductory term.

Fifth Third Bank has launched the Truly Simple Credit Card, which offers an 18-month introductory 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers. After the promotional period, purchases and transferred balances carry a variable APR of 18.49% to 29.49%. The card has no annual fee and is issued on the Mastercard network.

The card allows users to initiate balance transfers through Fifth Third’s mobile app and to set up automatic payments. The bank stated the extended interest-free period is intended to give customers time to consolidate higher-rate credit card balances into a single payment or to finance larger purchases without interest during the introductory term.

Ben Hoffman, chief strategy officer and head of Consumer Products at Fifth Third, described the product as offering longer introductory financing alongside digital tools for managing payments and everyday benefits to support customer spending.

Eligible cardholders can access more than $120 in annual value through Mastercard’s Instacart benefit. Any remaining balance after the 18-month period will begin accruing interest at the card’s stated variable rate. The card’s features include a mobile balance-transfer option and no annual fee.

Fifth Third said the launch fits a strategy to simplify its credit card portfolio around two customer priorities: earning rewards and lowering interest costs. The bank named a 1.67% cash back card for customers focused on rewards and positioned the Truly Simple card for users prioritizing lower interest costs and simpler payment management.
