FactSet buys BCC Group to add low-latency feeds

FactSet has acquired BCC Group to add low-latency market data feeds and distribution technology for institutional clients and expand its streaming data services.

FactSet has acquired BCC Group to strengthen its real-time market data capabilities and expand streaming data offerings for institutional clients. The acquisition brings BCC’s low-latency data feeds and distribution technology into FactSet’s market data products.

FactSet announced plans to integrate BCC’s real-time feed infrastructure with its existing data delivery platforms to speed access to market quotes, trades and reference data across multiple asset classes. Integration work will focus on combining engineering teams and aligning product road maps so FactSet platforms can consume and distribute BCC feeds alongside other content.

The companies said the deal will support clients that require ultra-low-latency data for trading, market-making and electronic execution workflows. BCC supplies real-time feeds and distribution services used by trading desks and venues; FactSet intends to offer more direct connectivity options to exchanges and liquidity venues.

The companies did not publish financial terms in the initial announcement. FactSet plans to consolidate certain data operations, standardize delivery formats and provide unified service-level agreements for live market information.

Market participants have increased demand for real-time, low-latency data, prompting consolidation among market-data providers. Firms that trade electronically and run automated strategies seek direct and reliable sources of live market information to reduce latency and improve execution quality.

FactSet is a global provider of financial data, analytics and software for investment professionals. BCC Group provides live market data feeds and real-time distribution technology used by trading firms and market participants.
