Experian launches Credit Cards app inside ChatGPT
Experian launched a Credit Cards app on ChatGPT that lets users compare issuer-aligned card offers and view matches to their Experian credit profile before applying.
Experian announced the launch of a Credit Cards app on ChatGPT that lets users compare issuer-provided credit card offers through a conversational interface and view offers matched to their Experian credit profile. The app displays standardized issuer details and directs users to Experian’s site to continue an application.
Within ChatGPT, users can begin with a question and receive a curated set of relevant card offers from Experian’s partner network. Each listing presents consistent information where available, including annual fees, introductory bonuses, rewards rates, introductory APR promotions and ongoing APR ranges to make side-by-side comparisons easier.
Consumers who choose to proceed are routed to Experian’s website to review offers that match their Experian credit profile. Experian members can see any pre-approved offers they qualify for and cards labeled No Ding Decline™, which the company says will not affect a user’s credit score if an initial approval is not granted. Experian also states that user data and the routing process are handled securely as part of the application flow.
Debbie Hsu, Experian’s executive vice president of product for consumer services, commented, “Consumers expect financial experiences to be as intuitive as the technology they use every day. By bringing our credit card marketplace into ChatGPT, we’re making it easier for people to explore their options, compare cards with confidence and take the next step when the time is right.”
Michael Coleman, chief marketing officer at Credit One Bank, added that the app creates a new way for consumers to discover and compare card options through a conversational experience and that the bank is participating in the offering.
Experian framed the launch as part of a broader consumer AI strategy. The company has created similar conversational marketplaces for loans and insurance and said it plans future updates to add more personalized recommendations and expand lender participation. Experian described the ChatGPT integration as a way to consolidate initial card research into a single conversational experience and to provide a faster path to offers that reflect a user’s Experian profile.
