ExodusPoint macro PM Mirco Bulega exits after nearly four years

Mirco Bulega, a London-based macro portfolio manager who joined ExodusPoint in 2022, has left the multi-strategy hedge fund after nearly four years, industry sources say.

Mirco Bulega has left multi-strategy hedge fund ExodusPoint after nearly four years, according to people familiar with the matter. He joined the firm in 2022 as a London-based macro portfolio manager.

Neither ExodusPoint nor Bulega provided comment. Industry contacts indicate he plans to move into a new role and may already have arrangements in place; no employer or start date has been disclosed.

At ExodusPoint, Bulega built and ran macro strategies from the London office and assembled a macro investment team. He recruited Jacques Mouawad from Morgan Stanley and Vittorio Martino from Deutsche Bank; those hires remain at the firm.

Markets were volatile earlier this year. Bulega recorded a modest loss in March after delivering positive returns in previous years. Industry contacts say discussions about his departure began before the March volatility.

Before joining ExodusPoint, Bulega held macro-focused investment roles at Alphadyne Asset Management and worked as a European economist at Credit Suisse.
