ExodusPoint hires former Goldman Sachs macro trader in Dubai

Daniel Dangoor joins ExodusPoint as a senior portfolio manager in Dubai after a year at Goldman Sachs as head of macro thematic trading in London.

ExodusPoint has hired Daniel Dangoor as a senior portfolio manager in its Dubai office, where he will work on macro trading.

Dangoor spent roughly a year at Goldman Sachs in London as head of macro thematic trading. Before that, he worked for about a year as a senior portfolio manager at SPX Capital.

The appointment is part of ExodusPoint’s ongoing expansion of its macro investment operations in Dubai. The firm has added several senior hires to the office and last year relocated PIMCO portfolio manager Berhe Tesfayohannes from London to Dubai.

In recent years, hedge funds and asset managers have shifted experienced staff from London to Gulf fund offices. Firms point to compensation structures and tax regimes in the region when explaining those relocations.

Goldman Sachs and ExodusPoint did not respond to requests for comment. The hire adds to a series of senior appointments that have increased headcount on macro and trading teams in Dubai.
