Euroclear to buy Uptevia to broaden securities services
Euroclear plans to acquire Uptevia to integrate its post-trade platforms and teams into Euroclear’s custody, settlement and fund servicing operations.
Euroclear plans to acquire Uptevia, a provider of post-trade processing technology, to add its software and teams to Euroclear’s custody, settlement and fund servicing operations. Terms were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals in the jurisdictions involved.
Uptevia provides reconciliation, corporate actions and fund servicing tools that automate back-office workflows and data matching. Its platforms are used by asset managers, custodians and broker-dealers that rely on post-trade automation.
Euroclear said the transaction will bring Uptevia’s technology platforms and specialist teams into its network to strengthen processing capabilities. The company plans a phased integration intended to preserve daily settlement cycles and fund distribution schedules while migrating operational processes onto common platforms.
Clients served by Uptevia are expected to be incorporated into Euroclear’s service model, with an emphasis on maintaining existing contractual arrangements during migration. Euroclear plans to work with regulators and clients throughout the integration period to ensure continuity of clearing, settlement and safekeeping services.
Industry participants have been investing in software and platform capabilities to improve straight-through processing, reduce operational risk and support newer product types such as digital securities and tokenized assets. The planned acquisition follows that broader sector trend of central securities depositories and global custodians expanding technology capabilities through targeted deals.
Regulators and client groups will review operational and market implications before the transaction closes. Key items to watch include technology integration timelines, plans for data migration and any changes to service-level agreements that could affect settlement finality and custody operations. Euroclear has not provided a definitive closing date and said it will provide a migration timetable once approvals are secured and integration work begins.
