ETF Developments Span Trading, Indexes and Active Funds

SEI, Optiver, VettaFi and Capital Group announced ETF-related developments from Oct. 5 to 8, covering infrastructure, market making, index ownership and active funds.

SEI, Optiver, VettaFi and Capital Group announced ETF-related developments between Oct. 5 and 8, 2026. The announcements covered ETF infrastructure, market making, index ownership and regulatory approval for active funds.

On Oct. 8, SEI announced an agreement with Intercontinental Exchange Inc. to use ICE ETF Hub, an open platform designed to support ETF operations.

On Oct. 6, Optiver expanded its market-making activities into autocallable ETFs. The firm began with WisdomTree listings linked to large-cap indexes.

Also on Oct. 6, VettaFi announced the acquisition of The SPADE Defense Index. The index tracks companies connected to the defense sector and may be used as the basis for exchange-traded products. No new ETF launch tied to the acquisition was announced.

On Oct. 5, Capital Group received regulatory approval from the Central Bank of Ireland for its first UCITS active ETFs. The approval covers active ETFs established under the European UCITS framework, which governs investment funds distributed across European markets.

The announcements did not provide details on fund tickers, assets under management, fees or listing venues. Capital Group also did not identify the approved funds, their launch dates or their investment strategies.
