EDX Markets adopts Figure’s YLDS as collateral and treasury asset
EDX Markets integrated YLDS, an SEC-registered yield-bearing digital security from Figure Certificate Company, for use as institutional collateral and as a treasury asset.
EDX Markets has added YLDS, a yield-bearing digital security issued by Figure Certificate Company, to its trading and clearing ecosystem. The firm will accept YLDS as institutional collateral and hold it as a treasury asset on its balance sheet.
The token is now available to participants on EDX’s institutional-only trading venue and central clearinghouse. Firms can post YLDS as collateral to improve capital efficiency for trades executed or cleared through EDX, the company said. EDX also plans to carry YLDS as a treasury holding.
YLDS is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and remains transferable 24 hours a day on blockchain networks. Figure Certificate Company is a unit of Figure Technology Solutions; the product is designed to provide yield while remaining transferable.
Tony Acuña-Rohter, EDX Markets’ CEO, said firms seek capital-efficiency solutions that meet regulatory standards, liquidity needs and operational resilience, and that YLDS offers those attributes while remaining transferable and available around the clock.
Mike Cagney, co-founder and executive chairman of Figure, noted, “Exchange collateral was one of the first use cases we pointed to when we launched YLDS. Institutions shouldn’t have to choose between yield, liquidity and regulatory certainty, and with YLDS they don’t.”
EDX said it will continue to explore opportunities to expand access to regulated digital securities and to develop market infrastructure for institutional participants. EDX operates an institutional-only trading venue paired with a central clearinghouse. Figure Certificate Company created YLDS as an SEC-registered digital security intended to provide yield and transferability.
