Edward Jones adds Carefull monitoring, identity insurance
Edward Jones will offer Carefull’s account-monitoring platform to clients, flagging suspicious activity, alerting trusted contacts and providing up to $1 million in identity-theft insurance.
Edward Jones began offering Carefull’s account-monitoring platform to clients in a partnership announced June 24. The St. Louis-based firm, which has more than 20,000 financial advisors, will make the New York City-based fintech’s service available to clients who want additional oversight.
Clients who enroll link bank and investment accounts to Carefull. The platform scans transactions and patterns that may indicate fraud or mistakes, and sends alerts to clients and any approved family members or trusted contacts. Carefull cannot access or move funds; its role is limited to monitoring and notification.
Carefull cites elder fraud involving debit cards and bank accounts, accidental recurring donations and identity theft as situations where monitoring can help identify problems early. The service includes identity-theft insurance that covers certain losses up to $1 million.
The platform includes an artificial intelligence engine the company calls financial caregiving monitoring, a ScamCheck feature that looks for scam emails, texts and letters, and a password manager to help families locate account credentials. The tools are designed to help trusted contacts spot unusual activity and intervene, for example by stopping unwanted automatic payments.
Edward Jones noted the addition reflects a view that rising fraud risks may require tools beyond standard safeguards. Advisors at the firm will be able to enable Carefull’s monitoring for clients who choose the service.
Carefull has also pursued outreach related to aging and financial vulnerability. In June 2025 the company partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association to raise awareness of cognitive decline and financial warning signs.
The service is offered as an option for clients through Edward Jones while account control remains with the client and their financial institutions.
