DTCC to use Chainlink CRE for Collateral AppChain data

DTCC will integrate Chainlink’s Runtime Environment and data standard into its Collateral AppChain to deliver on-chain prices, valuations and automated collateral workflows.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation will integrate Chainlink’s Runtime Environment (CRE) and Chainlink’s data standard into its Collateral AppChain to provide on-chain asset prices, valuations and automated workflows for collateral management. The platform is expected to go live in Q4 2026.

DTCC’s Collateral AppChain is a digitally native, shared infrastructure platform designed to standardize how collateral is managed, moved and valued across providers, receivers, managers, triparty agents and custodians. The AppChain was shown publicly during DTCC’s Great Collateral Experiment and is built to use tokenization and distributed ledger technology to enable near real-time, 24/7 collateral operations across global markets and blockchains.

Chainlink’s CRE will serve as the data and orchestration layer for the AppChain, bringing on-chain asset prices, valuations and other collateral agreement data into smart contract workflows. CRE is designed to operate at institutional scale and to coordinate multiple data inputs and outputs to support eligibility, valuation, margining, collateral optimization, settlement and other post-trade processes.

DTCC said CRE’s reusable framework will reduce the need for one-off integrations and allow the Collateral AppChain to scale to new data types, asset classes and collateral use cases. The company said the platform aims to automate processes that now rely on manual or fragmented systems.

Nadine Chakar, DTCC’s managing director and global head of digital assets, said: “By leveraging tokenization and distributed ledger technology to modernize collateral mobility, our goal is to enable 24/7, near real-time collateral management across global markets and blockchains. The integration of Chainlink’s CRE and data standard will allow us to deliver a unified on-chain environment, bringing on-chain asset prices, valuations and other collateral agreement data to support this industry initiative.”

Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov described CRE as capable of bringing smart contract capabilities into traditional finance by orchestrating critical outputs in a secure, private and compliant manner and expressed support as the AppChain moves toward production.

By combining CRE’s data standard and orchestration with tokenized assets on a distributed ledger, DTCC expects to streamline eligibility checks, valuation updates, margin calls and settlement flows while enabling greater reuse of collateral and more efficient capital allocation.
