Daiwa launches iFreeETF Gold Plus Income on Tokyo exchange
Daiwa Asset Management launched iFreeETF Gold Plus Income, tracking the Solactive Gold Plus 7-10Y US Treasury Stacked Index and pairing intermediate-maturity US Treasuries with gold futures; it began trading 4 Sept 2026 (626A).
Daiwa Asset Management launched iFreeETF Gold Plus Income on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on 4 September 2026 under the ticker 626A. The exchange-traded fund tracks the Solactive Gold Plus 7-10Y US Treasury Stacked Index.
The index is denominated in US dollars and combines two underlying indices: the Solactive US 7-10 Year Treasury Bond Index (Total Return) and the Solactive Future Series 5-Day Roll Gold Excess Return USD Index. It is structured to reflect 100% of each component’s daily performance on a combined basis.
The combined benchmark provides simultaneous exposure to intermediate-maturity US Treasuries and gold futures in a single rules-based measure. Intermediate Treasuries deliver fixed-income returns and are sensitive to interest-rate changes. Gold futures reflect movements in the price of gold, which are influenced by inflation expectations, currency shifts, geopolitical events and investor demand during periods of uncertainty.
Timo Pfeiffer, Chief Markets Officer at Solactive, commented: “We are very pleased to continue our collaboration with Daiwa Asset Management on this latest launch. By combining exposure to U.S. Treasuries and gold within a single rules-based index, the strategy offers investors access to two asset classes with distinct market characteristics. We are delighted to support Daiwa Asset Management in further expanding its range of innovative investment products for Japanese investors.”
Yuji Mori, Executive Managing Director and Head of Product Division at Daiwa Asset Management, noted that the firm has been expanding its ETF lineup to give investors efficient access to global investment opportunities and said the new ETF responds to investor demand for a broader set of approaches as market conditions change.
The ETF offers a single-ticket option for investors seeking local exchange access to these global assets. The index’s rules define the components and the daily combined-performance methodology used to calculate the fund’s benchmark.
