Daiwa launches iFreeETF for German 0-3 month bills
Daiwa launched the iFreeETF German Government 0-3 Month Bill ETF, tracking Solactive’s index. It began trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Aug. 3, 2026 under ticker 613A.
Daiwa Asset Management has launched the iFreeETF German Government 0-3 Month Bill, an exchange-traded fund that tracks the Solactive German Government 0-3 Month Bill Index. The ETF started trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Aug. 3, 2026 under ticker 613A.
The fund holds euro-denominated German government bills with remaining maturities of up to three months. Holdings target the short end of the yield curve and offer low-duration sovereign exposure through a listed vehicle.
The Solactive index is weighted by market value and is reviewed and rebalanced on each business day to reflect changes at the front of the yield curve. The ETF structure allows on-exchange pricing and daily transparency of holdings.
Daiwa and Solactive described the ETF as intended for investors seeking liquid, short-duration exposure and as a cash-management option within broader portfolios. The listing provides Japanese investors an on-exchange route to German bills without direct bond purchases or foreign custody arrangements.
Timo Pfeiffer, Chief Markets Officer at Solactive, welcomed the first collaboration with Daiwa and noted Solactive will support the product with a transparent, rules-based indexing approach and looks to further cooperation. Kei Sano, President at Daiwa Asset Management, said the fund offers exposure to short-term German government securities while maintaining euro currency exposure and that it can be included in globally diversified portfolios. Masahiro Hotchi, ETF Global Business Development Manager at Daiwa, described the ETF’s investment structure as simple and transparent and said it can be used as a standalone holding or as part of a diversified allocation.
The launch expands Daiwa’s ETF lineup in Japan by adding a short-duration euro sovereign exposure available through local trading on the Tokyo exchange.
