Constructor has launched an agent-driven payment platform that routes transactions through a network of local agents to expand payment acceptance for merchants and consumers.

The platform lets third-party agents accept and process payments on behalf of businesses. It combines point-of-sale functionality with agent onboarding and transaction reconciliation, and supports multiple payment methods while integrating with merchants’ checkout systems and accounting tools.

Agents can take payments in person, convert cash to digital value, and settle transactions to merchant accounts or digital wallets. Constructor built the system with mobile applications for agents, cloud-based transaction processing and integrations for merchant point-of-sale systems. Agents may use smartphones or low-cost terminals to accept payments, generate receipts and issue refunds where supported.

Constructor plans to deploy the platform with a focus on small and mid-sized merchants and service providers that lack direct access to bank-grade payment infrastructure. The agent model allows local entrepreneurs to earn fees on transactions while providing customers with in-person payment options. The platform includes tools for agent registration and identity verification, transaction tracking, fee management and end-of-day reconciliation.

The company incorporated compliance and risk controls, including layered authentication for transactions, monitoring to detect irregular activity and an onboarding workflow that captures required identity information. The platform manages limits and permissions at the agent level and supports configurable commission structures so businesses can set rates for different transaction types.

Constructor says the platform will shorten the time merchants need to start accepting digital payments by shifting some operational and customer-facing tasks to agents. The company is positioning the system for storefront merchants, field services, bill payment points and community markets where customers prefer paying cash to a local agent.

Agent-driven networks have been used in parts of Africa, South Asia and Latin America by fintech firms and mobile-money operators to reach underserved customers. Such models typically combine mobile apps, agent management portals, transaction processing engines and compliance tooling to operate at scale.
