CMC Markets adds trading tools to ChatGPT

London-based CMC Markets has made its trading tools available inside ChatGPT through a plugin announced this week. The integration connects the broker’s live price feeds, interactive charts, technical indicators and market commentary with ChatGPT’s interface.

Users of the chatbot can query real-time quotes, request chart images and ask for basic technical analysis without leaving the ChatGPT environment. According to CMC Markets, customers can continue to place orders and manage accounts via the broker’s apps and web platform.

The rollout is aimed at individual investors and traders who use conversational AI for research and decision support. CMC Markets operates in the UK, Australia and Singapore, and the company expects the integration to be available where the broker is licensed to provide services.

Through the plugin, ChatGPT users can prompt for current exchange rates, equity prices or recent price performance for a specified instrument and receive structured responses that use CMC Markets’ data. The functionality delivers chart images and standard technical indicators on request.

The company described the integration as part of an effort to widen access to market data and educational tools through third-party platforms while maintaining regulatory and security controls through its trading systems.

Industry observers note that brokerages and financial-data providers are increasingly embedding services into conversational interfaces to reach clients who seek faster access to market information.
