City Index relaunches as StoneX Trading

City Index will relaunch as StoneX Trading; the City Index UK brand will retire on 12 September.

StoneX Group Inc. (NASDAQ: SNEX) announced that City Index will relaunch as StoneX Trading and that the City Index UK name will retire on 12 September. The company has launched a StoneX Trading website and updated branding across its digital channels and mobile applications.

StoneX stated the relaunch brings the firm’s self-directed retail business into its global franchise, which operates from more than 80 offices worldwide. The company noted clients can continue trading without interruption and that there will be no changes to trading platforms, account arrangements or support services during the transition. From 12 September, new accounts will open under the StoneX Trading name.

StoneX noted the rebrand will connect retail traders with wider market intelligence and institutional-grade insights previously available mainly to institutional clients. The company added the relaunch aligns the retail business with StoneX’s commercial, institutional, payments and self-directed divisions and will support further investment in products and technology.

Giles Watts, Regional Business Director, EMEA – Self Directed at StoneX, commented: “For decades, City Index has earned the trust of traders by delivering reliable platforms, broad market access and high-quality client services. Moving to StoneX Trading builds on that legacy while bringing our retail offering under a brand recognised globally for its strength in financial markets.” Watts added that clients will continue using the same platforms and be served by the same support teams.

Alastair Hine, Global Head of Self Directed at StoneX, added: “StoneX Trading represents our ambition for the future of self-directed trading. By bringing City Index’s trusted legacy together with the strength and global capabilities of StoneX, we are creating a much stronger platform for innovation and continued investment in the products, technology and overall experience offered to our clients.”

City Index has been a recognised retail trading name in the UK for many years. StoneX stated existing customers will retain current services and access. StoneX stated it expects the transition to be seamless and plans to use its global resources for future product and technology enhancements.
