Citadel’s 0.1% gain for August brought its 2026 return to about 12.1%. Millennium was flat for the month and is up roughly 8.2% year-to-date. Balyasny’s -0.7% in August left the firm with about a 0.5% gain for 2026, according to people familiar with the results.
Other large multi-strategy platforms recorded small moves. Dymon Asia fell 1.1% in August, LMR’s multi-strategy fund rose 0.3%, ExodusPoint gained 1.4% for the month and is up about 4.9% year-to-date, and Man Group’s 1783 fund returned 1.7% in August.
The S&P 500 climbed 2.6% in August and is up more than 12% since the start of the year. Most of the funds named remain behind that benchmark.
Multi-strategy funds deploy a mix of trading strategies and often seek steadier returns across market conditions.
