Citadel hires ex-Citi psychotherapist for in-house therapy

Citadel has hired Eva Churchill, a former Citigroup psychotherapist, to provide part-time therapy for employees as the hedge fund expands in-house health services. According to people familiar with the matter, Churchill spent nearly nine years providing internal psychotherapy at Citigroup’s New York office and will work across Citadel’s New York operations and its clinic in Miami.

The hire adds clinical psychotherapy to a growing medical team overseen by Dr. David Stark, Citadel’s chief medical officer. Stark, a medical doctor with a PhD in biomedical informatics, joined Citadel from Morgan Stanley last September and is based in New York. Citadel has maintained onsite medical facilities and has been recruiting nurses and other clinicians to staff primary care, mental health support and coaching.

Churchill’s role is part-time and intended to supplement existing medical staff and increase access to counseling and behavioral health services for staff. The firm declined to comment on the appointment. Churchill’s nearly nine years of experience treating employees within a large financial institution matches the firm’s expansion of internal workplace health services.
