Centerview Names Bennett Schachter Head of Capital Advisory
Centerview Partners hired Bennett Schachter, a former managing director at Elliott, as partner to lead its capital advisory business in New York.
Centerview Partners announced the hire of Bennett Schachter as a partner to lead its capital advisory business in New York. Schachter joins the firm after four years at Elliott Investment Management, where he worked on capital markets and financing solutions.
Schachter brings more than 25 years of investment-banking experience. His career includes senior roles at Morgan Stanley, where he led the alternative and capital solutions businesses and advised on special purpose acquisition company transactions, and more than two decades at Goldman Sachs in leadership positions within the capital markets division.
Centerview highlighted Schachter’s experience across equity, credit and alternative forms of capital as relevant to advising clients on strategic financing transactions. His responsibilities at the firm will include structuring transactions that draw on equity, debt and other capital sources for public and private companies and investor clients.
Centerview has been expanding its capital-advisory capabilities to serve a wider set of financing needs across public and private markets amid changing capital flows and increased demand for private-market funding. The firm expects Schachter’s background to support both current client relationships and prospective engagements that require customized financing solutions.
