Broadridge to support proxy voting for Payward’s xStocks
Broadridge will let eligible Payward xStocks holders authenticate with Web3 on ProxyVote.com to receive digital proxy materials and submit votes for underlying securities.
Broadridge Financial Solutions will extend its unified governance platform to support shareholder communications and proxy voting for eligible holders of xStocks, the tokenized equities framework developed by Payward Services. Eligible holders will authenticate with Web3 credentials on ProxyVote.com to receive proxy materials and submit voting preferences for the underlying securities.
Under the arrangement, token holders who meet eligibility requirements will use Web3 authentication to access proxy documents on ProxyVote.com and cast votes through Broadridge’s platform. The process uses digital delivery and on-chain credentials while connecting to Broadridge’s existing proxy infrastructure.
Broadridge stated the capability provides a consistent governance experience across traditional securities and several tokenization models, and that the system includes reporting and audit trails for institutional use. The firm has added support for issuer-sponsored and custodial tokenized securities as part of its digital asset governance work.
Payward Services, the B2B infrastructure arm of Payward, reported it lists more than 500 tokenized assets across equities, ETFs and pre-IPO securities. Payward describes xStocks as the largest tokenized equities framework by total transaction volume and as offering the widest range of assets among tokenized equities frameworks.
Mark Greenberg, Payward’s chief commercial officer and global head of Payward Services, said, “The endgame for tokenization was never just building faster programmable capital markets. It’s about giving people across the world everything that comes with owning a piece of a company, including a voice in how it’s run. Working with Broadridge is a step in that direction, unlocking opportunities for xStocks holders to participate in corporate governance, while closing the gap between tokenized equities and traditional shares.”
Doug DeSchutter, president of Broadridge’s Investor Communication Solutions business, added, “As tokenized securities continue to reshape global capital markets, investors should not have to choose between blockchain innovation and shareholder rights. By extending our governance platform to support xStocks, we are enabling eligible token holders to have a voice in corporate governance and extending our leadership in digital asset governance.”
The integration connects token-holder controls to established proxy and reporting processes, allowing token holders to view proxy materials and vote through the same channels used for conventional shares. Broadridge’s infrastructure will provide audit trails and reports required by institutional investors and issuers.
