Broadridge Names Ian Williams Head of International Trading

Broadridge appointed Ian Williams head of international trading and connectivity for BTCS, effective immediately; he will relocate to London, retain his global trading product role and report to CPO Brian Pomraning.

Broadridge Financial Solutions appointed Ian Williams to the newly created role of Head of International for Broadridge Trading and Connectivity Solutions (BTCS), effective immediately. Williams will relocate from Toronto to London, retain his responsibilities as Global Head of Trading and Execution Product Management, and report to BTCS Chief Product Officer Brian Pomraning.

The expanded role gives Williams responsibility for Broadridge’s trading and connectivity operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC). Broadridge said the position is intended to provide integrated, globally consistent capabilities for clients facing greater complexity in trading, execution and market structure.

Williams will work with global, regional and country leaders to align priorities and accelerate growth across the firm’s trading and connectivity business in EMEA and APAC. He will continue to oversee product management for trading and execution while leading international strategy and client engagement for BTCS.

Williams has more than 30 years of experience in capital markets. He spent 16 years at Virtu Financial and ITG in senior roles, including CEO of the Canadian business and Head of U.S. Execution Services. Earlier in his career he spent more than a decade at TD, serving as a portfolio manager and head of trading at TD Asset Management.

“Our clients across EMEA and APAC are facing greater complexity in trading, execution and market structure, and they need a partner who can bring integrated, globally consistent capabilities to bear,” commented Mike Sleightholme, president of Broadridge International.

“I look forward to working closely with our clients and our global and regional teams to strengthen connectivity, improve execution, and support growth across the business,” Williams added.
