Bramshill Hires Two Former Lazard EM Debt Heads
Bramshill hired Chris Milonopoulos and Sergio Valderrama from Lazard Asset Management to lead its emerging markets debt team in New York; both report to Arif Joshi.
Bramshill Investments has hired Chris Milonopoulos and Sergio Valderrama from Lazard Asset Management to lead its emerging markets debt team. Both executives joined Bramshill in late August and are based in New York, reporting to Arif Joshi, the firm’s head of emerging markets.
Milonopoulos and Valderrama were appointed as managing directors and portfolio managers. Milonopoulos will concentrate on opportunities in Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Valderrama will cover Latin America and Africa.
Milonopoulos spent 15 years at Lazard, most recently heading fixed-income trading after earlier roles in Lazard’s emerging markets debt business. Valderrama spent 16 years at Lazard, serving as a director and portfolio manager focused on sovereign credit and hard-currency debt.
Bramshill launched a long-only emerging markets debt strategy in March and has grown assets in that vehicle to about $200 million. The firm plans to introduce a hedge fund focused on developing-market opportunities in 2027.
The appointments expand Bramshill’s regional coverage and add trading and sovereign hard-currency debt experience to its emerging markets team. Joshi established the group and oversees the firm’s emerging-market efforts.
Bramshill is an alternative investment manager that has been building its emerging markets franchise this year through product launches and senior hires intended to cover a wider set of regions and instruments.
