BMLL appoints Brad Hunt as chairman

Brad Hunt was appointed chairman of BMLL’s board; Lee Hodgkinson will remain as an independent non‑executive director.

BMLL appointed Brad Hunt as chairman of its board, replacing Lee Hodgkinson, who will continue on the board as an independent non‑executive director. The change follows Nordic Capital’s acquisition of BMLL in October 2025 and comes as the company prepares to expand its global presence.

Hunt has more than 30 years of experience in financial data and services. He most recently served as CEO of Rimes Technologies, where he led the company’s expansion from benchmark data management into enterprise data management and investment solutions and oversaw its sale in 2024.

Earlier in his career Hunt ran strategy and business development for Global Markets at BNY Mellon and held senior strategic roles at IHS Markit and Goldman Sachs International in London.

Hodgkinson, who stepped down as chairman, is Group Chief Strategy Officer at Saudi Tadawul Group. He previously served as CEO of Euronext London and held senior positions at derivatives trading firm OSTC.

The board also appointed US‑based independent non‑executive director Spiros Giannaros. Giannaros led Gresham Technologies as CEO and previously served as CEO and president of Charles River Development, as Executive Vice President at State Street, and as a partner at IHS Markit.

Other directors include Paul Humphrey, BMLL’s chief executive; Nigel Medhurst, chief financial and operating officer; Nordic Capital principals David Samuelsen and Dan Rosenberg; and Hilde Kaemingk, Optiver’s representative and a director at Rambutan Capital.

Paul Humphrey, BMLL’s chief executive, welcomed Hunt’s appointment and thanked Hodgkinson for his stewardship: “I am delighted to welcome Brad to BMLL as our new Chairman. When Nordic Capital came on board, we made our intentions very clear, and we continue to deliver on this mission. As we accelerate our global footprint and continue to help market participants make sense of shifting market dynamics, Brad’s deep industry expertise will be invaluable as we scale. I also want to thank Lee Hodgkinson for his excellent stewardship as Chairman and his continued dedication to the firm as an independent Non‑Executive Director, and welcome Spiros Giannaros as our US‑based independent NED, further strengthening our governance.”

Brad Hunt said he joined BMLL after the Nordic Capital acquisition with a focus on addressing data complexity and cost: “BMLL has built an enviable reputation for delivering the industry’s highest quality historical data products, allowing institutions to execute complex data strategies cost‑effectively. There is a clear, growing appetite among market participants for this depth of insight without the traditional operational overhead. I look forward to working with Paul, the Board, and the Nordic Capital team to scale our presence globally and help our clients leverage unique data, analytics and advanced workflows to truly optimise their investment and trading strategies.”

BMLL provides harmonised historical Level 3, 2 and 1 market data and analytics for capital markets participants, which the company says are used for research, trading and risk management.
