BlueCrest hired former Barclays rates trader Ankur Aneja as a partner in 2025 to strengthen its macro and fixed-income trading team.

BlueCrest hired former Barclays rates trader Ankur Aneja as a partner in 2025, adding a senior rates specialist to its macro trading team.

Aneja spent more than a decade at Barclays and was regarded as a leading rates trader before leaving in mid-2025.

Regulatory filings list him as a partner at BlueCrest, placing him among the firm’s senior investment professionals. The filings indicate a direct hire into the firm’s investment leadership but do not specify his trading remit.

The appointment is part of a recruitment drive focused on macro and fixed-income specialists. Recent partner hires at BlueCrest have included former executives from Bank of America, BNP Paribas, Eisler Capital, JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs. The firm has been adding experienced traders across its global platform to broaden macro trading capabilities.

BlueCrest returned external capital in 2015 and now operates as the family office of founder Michael Platt. The firm’s compensation arrangements allow investment professionals to retain a significant share of trading profits. BlueCrest has not publicly disclosed individual traders’ portfolios or specific compensation details beyond its general profit-sharing approach.
