Bitwise lists BWCC ETP on Xetra to track Canton token

Bitwise listed the Bitwise Canton ETP (BWCC) on Deutsche Börse Xetra to provide regulated exchange-traded exposure to the Canton Network’s CC token, tracking the Kaiko CANTO Reference Rate.

Bitwise has listed the Bitwise Canton ETP (ticker BWCC; ISIN DE000A4ARTH9) on Deutsche Börse Xetra. The product offers exchange-traded exposure to CC, the native token of the Canton Network, and tracks the Kaiko CANTO Reference Rate LDNLF index.

BWCC is fully backed by CC tokens held in cold storage and can be purchased or sold on Xetra via a standard brokerage account, without the need for a crypto wallet. The ETP carries a total expense ratio of 0.85 percent.

Bitwise describes the Canton Network as a privacy-enabled blockchain built for capital markets. The network was developed with participation from institutions including Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Börse and technology provider Broadridge. Canton is designed to allow financial institutions to issue, trade and settle tokenized assets while keeping transaction details private to the parties involved.

On Canton, parties see, validate and record only the parts of transactions relevant to them, a design Bitwise says supports confidentiality and regulatory compliance. CC is used for network governance and operations, and Bitwise links the token’s value to adoption and growth within the Canton ecosystem.

As an exchange-traded product, BWCC is listed and traded under Deutsche Börse Xetra’s rules and oversight. Holding the underlying CC tokens in cold storage is intended to reduce custody risk associated with managing the assets on behalf of investors.

Bradley Duke, managing director and head of Europe at Bitwise, described the ETP as a timely addition to European crypto offerings and added that it gives investors regulated, exchange-traded access to the Canton ecosystem. He noted Canton combines privacy, interoperability and programmability in a way designed to meet institutional compliance requirements.
