Binance CMO Rachel Conlan to leave June 15; Eowyn Chen interim
Rachel Conlan will leave Binance on June 15 after nearly three years as CMO; Eowyn Chen, former Trust Wallet CEO, will serve as interim chief marketing officer.
Rachel Conlan will leave Binance on June 15 after nearly three years. Binance named Eowyn Chen, former Trust Wallet chief executive, as interim chief marketing officer. Conlan will remain with the company in an advisory capacity during the handover.
Conlan formally became chief marketing officer in September 2023. Her marketing projects included a fragrance called “Crypto (Eau de Binance)” and celebrity partnerships with Cristiano Ronaldo and The Weeknd. She led the company’s public communications during a regulatory settlement with U.S. authorities.
Binance settled with U.S. authorities for $4.3 billion. The agreement was followed by changes in senior leadership, including founder Changpeng Zhao stepping down as CEO and Richard Teng taking the chief executive role.
Eowyn Chen was CEO of Trust Wallet, Binance’s self-custody wallet. Trust Wallet gives users control of their private keys instead of holding assets on the exchange. Chen’s background is in product and the technical side of self-custody wallets.
Binance has not announced a permanent successor to the chief marketing officer role or provided a timeline for the interim appointment.
