Beyond Connectivity: Extracting Value Across Payments

Finextra and Bottomline will host a webinar with Natasha Lapierre and Scott Hamilton on extracting more value from payments infrastructure, covering AI, APIs, ISO 20022, fraud and compliance.

Finextra and payments technology firm Bottomline will host an online webinar featuring Natasha Lapierre, Global Head of Product Strategy and Innovation for Financial Messaging at Bottomline. Scott Hamilton, a Finextra contributing editor, will moderate. The webinar will examine how banks and other financial institutions can extract greater value from payments infrastructure using AI, APIs, the ISO 20022 messaging standard and stronger fraud and compliance controls.

The session will address ways to reduce operational complexity while increasing control and agility across payments processing. Panelists will outline how automation and richer data change day-to-day operations and back-office workflows.

Speakers will consider approaches to strengthening fraud prevention, meeting regulatory reporting requirements and improving resilience across multiple payment rails.

The discussion will cover the shift from simple network connectivity toward adding intelligence, visibility and operational control across the payments lifecycle. Panelists will examine rising operational pressures as customer expectations increase and regulators require more detailed reporting and oversight.

The webinar will describe how payment environments now combine domestic and cross-border schemes, real-time systems, legacy infrastructure and new payment methods. Adoption of ISO 20022 has created a more standardised data structure, while institutions continue to face challenges in routing, managing enriched data fields, preventing fraud, ensuring compliance and producing accurate reports.

Near-term transformation priorities on the agenda include building more agile, streamlined and interoperable operations that can adapt to market and regulatory change. The session will outline practical uses for AI, the importance of trusted data foundations, requirements for explainable models and the role of human oversight in critical payment decisions.

The webinar will also examine technical tools that support a multi-rail, global payments strategy, including APIs for ecosystem connectivity, cross-border payment innovations and permissioned distributed ledger technologies. Panelists will discuss trade-offs between speed, security and customer experience.

Finextra is presenting the webinar in association with Bottomline. Registration and event details are available from the organisers.
