Beyond Connectivity: Getting More Value From Payments
Finextra and Bottomline will host a webinar, moderated by Scott Hamilton, on extracting greater value from payments infrastructure and reducing operational complexity.
Finextra, in association with Bottomline, will host a webinar in which industry experts will examine how banks and payment providers can extract greater value from payments infrastructure while reducing operational complexity. Scott Hamilton, a global payments and liquidity expert, will moderate the panel. The date and time were not specified.
The session will outline practical steps to increase control and agility across the payments lifecycle. Speakers will assess how organisations can move beyond basic connectivity to add data visibility and operational intelligence to payment flows.
Panelists will describe the technical mix that institutions manage: domestic and international schemes, real-time payment networks, legacy platforms and new payment methods. They will note that ISO 20022 adoption has created a more standardised data format for many organisations, while differing rails and systems continue to complicate routing choices and regulatory reporting.
Operational topics on the agenda include message routing, data management, fraud prevention, compliance and reporting. The discussion will address where automation and advanced data use can be applied, and what trusted data foundations and explainability requirements are needed when introducing AI. Panellists will consider the role of human oversight in high-risk payment decisions.
Speakers will cover connectivity options such as APIs and links to third-party ecosystems, and they will examine cross-border innovations and technologies including blockchain and how these can interface with existing infrastructure to improve interoperability and resilience.
Fraud controls, compliance workflows and operational resilience will be examined with a focus on strengthening monitoring and response while aiming to limit manual workloads. The panel will review trade-offs between processing speed, security and customer experience and discuss how technology, data and governance can be coordinated to adapt to market and regulatory changes.
