Axiology Adds State Street, SDX Veterans to Board
Axiology appointed David Newns, ex-CEO of SIX Digital Exchange and former State Street MD, and Boris Battistini, ex-Metellus director, as non-executive board members.
Axiology appointed David Newns and Boris Battistini as non-executive members of its board, adding experience in institutional electronic trading, regulated market infrastructure and private markets investment to the digital asset infrastructure firm.
Newns has more than 25 years of experience. He is the former CEO of SIX Digital Exchange, a regulated digital securities exchange and central securities depository, and previously served as Senior Managing Director at State Street, where he led the firm’s independent multi-asset electronic trading platforms globally.
Battistini joins from Metellus, where he served as a director and worked on private markets investment and strategic planning.
Axiology announced the appointments alongside a €5 million seed funding round, expansion of its C-suite and new commercial partnerships. The company said the new board members will support its work to provide regulated, institutional-grade infrastructure for tokenised and digital securities markets in the second half of 2026.
The board already includes Marius Jurgilas, chairman and CEO and a former member of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania; Algirdas Neciunskas, chief operating officer and former Director of Market Infrastructure at the Bank of Lithuania; and Andrius Mamontovas, chief legal officer and partner at FORT Legal.
Marius Jurgilas, Axiology’s chairman and CEO, commented: “David and Boris bring a level of experience that reinforces our ambition to build infrastructure that institutional markets can rely upon. Their collective experience speaks directly to what we are working to achieve and we look forward to harnessing their knowledge and experience moving forward.”
Axiology describes its platform as providing financial infrastructure for digital assets, aimed at institutional participants that require regulated custody, trading and settlement adapted for tokenised instruments.
