Asset Management One lists ETF shorting 10-year JGB futures

Asset Management One listed an ETF tracking the Solactive JGB Futures Short Index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on July 31, 2026, ticker 612A, offering short exposure to 10-year JGB futures.

Asset Management One has listed an exchange-traded fund that tracks the Solactive JGB Futures Short Index. The ETF, trading under ticker 612A on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, began trading on July 31, 2026. It provides short exposure to 10-year Japanese government bond futures.

The Solactive JGB Futures Short Index is constructed to replicate a hypothetical short position in 10-year JGB futures contracts. The index follows a rules-based methodology and uses a quarterly rolling process, replacing expiring contracts with later-dated contracts to maintain a continuous short position.

Asset Management One and Solactive developed the product as a fixed-income index solution for investors seeking targeted short exposure to JGB futures or tools to hedge duration risk in broader portfolios. The firms cited shifting interest rate expectations and the normalization of monetary policy in Japan as factors driving demand for instruments tied to changing yields.

The ETF expands the One ETF JGBs series, which already includes products focused on high coupons and specific maturities. The fund offers an exchange-traded alternative for investors who want to express a bearish view on 10-year JGBs or reduce duration exposure without buying individual bonds or using futures directly.

Timo Pfeiffer, chief markets officer at Solactive, welcomed the collaboration and described the partnership as part of efforts to broaden index-based options for Japanese investors and to develop transparent index solutions. Yusuke Sasaki, director and head of product division at Asset Management One, noted the new ETF completes the series’ lineup and provides options for portfolio management, rate-short strategies and hedging.
