Asset Management One lists ETF shorting 10-year JGB futures

Asset Management One’s ETF (ticker 612A) began trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on July 31, 2026, tracking the Solactive JGB Futures Short Index for short exposure to 10-year JGB futures.

Asset Management One listed an ETF on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on July 31, 2026, under ticker 612A. The fund tracks the Solactive JGB Futures Short Index and provides short exposure to 10-year Japanese government bond futures. The index seeks to replicate the performance of a hypothetical short position in 10-year JGB futures on a quarterly rolling basis.

The index follows a transparent, rules-based methodology. Its quarterly roll shifts the short position across 10-year JGB futures contracts at scheduled intervals to maintain the intended exposure.

The ETF is the first exchange-traded product launched in collaboration between Solactive and Asset Management One. It joins the One ETF JGBs series, which already includes products focused on high coupons and specific maturities. Timo Pfeiffer, Solactive’s chief markets officer, commented that the partnership aims to broaden index-based options for Japanese investors and support the evolving ETF market through transparent index solutions.

Yusuke Sasaki, director and managing executive officer at Asset Management One, said the new listing completes the series’ ‘full lineup’, enabling strategies from long-position portfolio management to interest-rate shorting and hedging. He noted interest in JGBs is rising both domestically and internationally amid higher yields.

The ETF targets investors seeking a bearish exposure to 10-year JGBs or a tool to offset duration risk in broader portfolios. Market participants should consider how futures-based short exposure, the quarterly roll schedule and fund costs may affect returns, particularly during volatile rate conditions.
