Apex backs tokenised real-estate fund on Goldman Sachs GS DAP

Apex Group will act as AIFM and provide fund administration, depositary and bank account services for a real estate fund issuing tokenised units on Goldman Sachs’ GS DAP with LRC, Archax and Ownera.

Apex Group is providing regulated fund services to a blockchain-native real estate fund developed with Goldman Sachs, LRC Group, Archax and Ownera. The fund’s shares are being tokenised on Goldman Sachs’ GS DAP platform and will operate within existing regulatory frameworks.

Apex will serve as Alternative Investment Fund Manager through Fundrock LIS. Fund administration and depositary services for assets other than financial instruments will be delivered by Apex Fund Services Luxembourg, and bank account services will be provided by EDB. Apex will support issuance, ongoing servicing and lifecycle management of the tokenised units.

LRC Group is appointed as the fund manager. Archax will act as custodian for the regulated digital securities and will serve as the first distribution partner. Ownera supplies the interoperability infrastructure to connect participants and distribution channels. Goldman Sachs is the provider of the GS DAP platform used to issue the tokenised fund units.

Partners say the structure keeps regulatory oversight in place while enabling on-chain issuance and potential future transferability of fund units. Apex will run investor onboarding, transaction processing, investor servicing and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions to support operational needs for institutional investors.

Apex, which manages more than $3.5 trillion in assets, described the work on the fund as addressing scalable distribution and ongoing operational servicing for tokenised funds.

Agnes Mazurek, Global Head of Digital Assets at Apex Group, commented: “Tokenization at institutional scale depends on trusted, regulated infrastructure.” Mathew McDermott, Global Head of Digital Assets at Goldman Sachs, noted: “Issuing blockchain-native fund units on GS DAP enables precise exposure to real estate assets and can allow more seamless transferability in the future.”
