Anthropic launches Claude for financial advisors
Anthropic launched Claude for Financial Advisors, a chatbot that links BlackRock, Vanguard and Schwab analytics to speed research, admin and portfolio oversight; advisors keep final decisions.
Anthropic launched Claude for Financial Advisors, a version of its Claude chatbot that connects portfolio analytics and research from BlackRock, Vanguard and Charles Schwab. The company says the tool is built to speed research, reduce administrative work and support portfolio oversight while leaving final investment decisions to human advisors.
The system links to custodians and alternative-investment platforms including Charles Schwab and iCapital, allowing account-level data to be pulled into consolidated portfolio views. Anthropic and its partners say the product can assemble investment research, model-portfolio analytics and client paperwork to shorten time spent on back-office tasks and monitoring.
Anthropic positions the product for smaller advisory firms and individual advisors who manage client meetings, compliance and portfolio oversight. The company says Claude for Financial Advisors can surface relevant research, summarize client communications, generate drafts of routine documents and flag portfolio risks by combining a language model with partner analytics.
Jonathan Pelosi, head of financial services at Anthropic, described the aim as helping a shrinking advisor population serve more households and emphasized limits on the system’s role. “You won’t explicitly get investment advice from Claude. We reserve that judgment for the experts,” Pelosi said.
Jaime Magyera, head of BlackRock’s U.S. wealth advisory and retirement businesses, highlighted demand from advisors for outsourced portfolio construction and management tools. “One of the biggest trends we’re seeing is advisors wanting to outsource,” Magyera noted, saying firms want greater capacity and consistency in portfolio building.
BlackRock manages about $300 billion in model portfolios, many using exchange-traded funds and other passive products that advisors often deploy for clients. Anthropic and partner firms say the integration could create additional business for asset managers and service providers that supply model portfolios, analytics and investment research.
Claude for Financial Advisors builds on Anthropic’s earlier AI agents for financial services that drafted pitch materials and reviewed client statements. Anthropic did not disclose pricing at the announcement and said adoption will depend on advisor demand as well as compliance reviews by fiduciaries and broker-dealers.
The launch comes as several AI companies expand enterprise offerings and prepare for public listings. Company leaders have also raised concerns about rapid AI development; Anthropic’s CEO Dario Amodei has urged slowing work on the most advanced systems, a position publicly supported by other industry executives.
