Analysts Raise AMD Targets; Traders Eye Leveraged AMUU

Wall Street firms lifted AMD price targets after its Advance AI event, and traders are eyeing the 2x leveraged Direxion ETF AMUU for short-term trades.

Advanced Micro Devices drew fresh analyst optimism after its Advance AI event, prompting several firms to raise price targets. AMD shares have more than doubled year to date and traded near $523 late Friday, July 24.

Roth Capital raised its target to $650, UBS to $730 and Baird to $1,250. A midpoint between Roth and UBS targets is about $690.

Analysts cited larger market estimates for AI server CPUs and accelerators. Morningstar analyst Brian Colello noted, “The highlight for us was AMD boosting its server CPU TAM to $220 billion, up from AMD’s March forecast of $120 billion. We’re also pleased, but less stunned, that AMD lifted its 2030 AI TAM for the entire AI accelerator market to $1.4 trillion, up from $1.0 trillion announced in November.”

Market commentary after the event highlighted the Direxion Daily AMD Bull 2X Shares, ticker AMUU, as an instrument that can amplify short-term moves. The fund seeks to deliver 200% of AMD’s daily returns and is designed for traders who understand the risks of daily compounding and intraday rebalancing.

Market participants are incorporating the revised TAM estimates and the refreshed product roadmap into financial models and trading plans for the second half of 2026. AMD has repositioned its server CPU offerings to target AI data-center workloads more directly.
