AI in payments: quick wins today, systemic change tomorrow
Volante Technologies will host a webinar on using AI beyond back-office automation to support payment orchestration and clarify accountability for AI-driven decisions.
Volante Technologies is hosting an online webinar to examine how artificial intelligence should move beyond back-office automation toward payment orchestration and clearer accountability for AI-driven decisions.
AI has already reduced manual work, sped exception handling and strengthened fraud controls in payment operations. Organisers note these operational gains are measurable but say focusing only on efficiency can overlook wider operational and structural questions.
The payments environment now includes new networks, alternative rails and emerging assets such as stablecoins and central bank digital currencies. Multiple routing options introduce variables — transaction value, currency, corridor, speed, cost, liquidity and risk — that make manual route selection impractical for many transactions.
Speakers will consider how AI might act as a decision layer that evaluates routing factors in real time and recommends or executes the most suitable route. The agenda also covers using AI to manage liquidity and counterparty risk across different payment channels.
The panel will address governance and regulatory responsibility when AI influences routing or other payment choices, including who bears accountability if an AI-driven decision causes loss, delay or compliance breaches. Regulators and compliance teams are increasingly focused on explainability, recordkeeping and clear lines of responsibility for automated decisions.
The webinar will feature Nadish Lad, Global Head of Product and Strategic Business at Volante Technologies, and will be moderated by Teresa Connors. Organisers frame the discussion around whether firms are prioritising efficiency gains over changing how payments are orchestrated and governed.
Registration details are available from the organiser.
