Global actively managed ETF assets reached $2.33 trillion in April after $67.02 billion of inflows, marking 73 straight months of net inflows and 20.7% YTD growth.

Global actively managed exchange-traded fund assets reached a record $2.33 trillion in April after investors added $67.02 billion to the sector, extending a streak of 73 consecutive months of net inflows, according to ETFGI’s April 2026 Active ETF and ETP Industry Landscape Insights report. Assets are up 20.7% year to date.

Year-to-date net inflows through April totaled $311.66 billion, nearly double the full-year 2025 total of $176.44 billion and more than three times the $96.28 billion recorded for all of 2024. The April figure pushed assets past the prior record of $2.15 trillion, set two months earlier, and up from $1.93 trillion at the end of 2025.

Equity-focused active ETFs led April inflows with $48.87 billion for the month and $181.21 billion year to date, compared with $96.14 billion for the same period in 2025. Fixed income active ETFs took in $16.35 billion in April and reached $110.61 billion year to date, up from $65.04 billion at the same point last year. ETFGI reported that a strong equity rally coincided with the inflows: the S&P 500 rose 10.49% in April and was up 5.70% year to date, while emerging markets advanced 10.53% in April.

Among U.S.-listed active funds, the Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM) led net inflows in April with $2.27 billion. The top 20 active ETFs by net new assets gathered $20.52 billion in the month. Market share is concentrated: Dimensional Fund Advisors held $296.28 billion (12.7%), JPMorgan Asset Management $280.49 billion (12.0%) and iShares $150.46 billion (6.5%), representing 31.2% of global active ETF assets; ETFGI’s data shows 703 other providers each hold less than a 6% market share.

Active ETFs offer the trading flexibility and tax treatment of ETFs while using portfolio management that does not strictly track an index. The April totals continued a more-than-six-year run of net inflows into actively managed ETF strategies, as recorded by ETFGI.
